The family of the late Stephen Rooney RIP wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to all those who sympathised and supported them in their recent sad bereavement.
Thanks to all family, relatives, friends and neighbours who called to the wake house, brought mass cards and gifts of food. Thanks also to those who left kind messages on social media.
Thanks to all who attended Stephen’s funeral. A special word of thanks to Deacon Jackie Breen for the beautiful and personal funeral service. To Aoife Grant for the lovely singing. Also, to the gravediggers for taking care of the grave. Thank you to those who sent floral tributes. To Kilcoo Community Centre for the use of their premises and to the Diamonds Restaurant Warrenpoint and staff for the lovely meal provided after Stephen’s funeral.
Thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Clough Surgery and Pharmacy, the doctors and nurses of the Downe Hospital and Daisy Hill Hospital, also the staff from NI Ambulance Service and Gordon’s Chemist Rathfriland. Thanks to the Respiratory Team and the Palliative Care Team. To the Lydian Care team who cared for Stephen at home. A special word of thanks to the staff of Greenvale Nursing home for the excellent care provided to Stephen in the final weeks of his life.

Stephen’s Months Mind mass will be celebrated on Saturday 18th October 2025 at 5pm in St Malachy’s Church Kilcoo.
