Thomas Darcy
Acknowledgement – Thomas Darcy,
(formerly of London and Tattyreagh, Co. Tyrone)
Died 16th September 2025.
Thomas passed away peacefully on the 16th September after a long and industrious life. He was a widely respected, hard-working gentleman, but primarily he was a devoted family man. Adored father of Damian and Laura, father-in-law of Jeff. Dearly loved grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. We, his family wish to express our sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all those who sympathised, prayed for and supported us through our recent sad bereavement.
Thank you to everyone who called to the wake in Grianan House Funeral Home, braving storm Amy. Sincere thanks to all who brought food and helped, this was greatly appreciated. Our thanks to those who sent Mass or Sympathy cards, messages or flowers and those who donated via the following link: https://tomdarcy.muchloved.com/. Thank you to those who lined the funeral route, stewards who directed the traffic for the funeral cortege and to Tattyreagh GFC for providing a guard of honour for Tommy. Our thanks also to those joined us at the Requiem Mass.
We are blessed to have had the love and support of our family, friends, neighbours, and work colleagues throughout this difficult time. Your kindness has helped us in so many ways, allowing us to grieve and find strength together as a family.
A special word of thanks to Father Sean McCartan PP for his spiritual support and the very comforting Requiem Mass and to the Parish of Beragh for providing Tommy’s final resting place. We convey our appreciation also to the Sacristan, Eucharistic Ministers Claire Maria Darcy and Brendan Darcy and everyone who took part in the Liturgy, especially our readers, and musician Anita McQuaid who provided the beautiful reverent and uplifting music.
Thank you to McAtee Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner, in which the funeral arrangements were carried out and to the gravedigger Brendan for preparing Tom’s final resting place. Also to Roisin of Nettles and Petals for the beautiful floral tributes, and to St. Patrick’s GAC Club Rooms, Tattyreagh, for hosting the most welcome refreshments after the burial and Farley Catering for their preparation.
In the UK we would like to thank Croydon University Hospital and Cedar view for their care of Tommy while during his short illness and Rowland Brothers for their care of Thomas while he was prepared for his journey home.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude. Your support, kindness, and presence during this difficult time have meant more to us than words can express.
Tom is loved and missed every day. May his passionate, kind, generous soul be granted peace and eternal rest. His Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St. Malachy’s Church, Seskinore on Monday 3rd November at 7.30pm. Our Lady pray for him.
