Thomas Quigley
Mary, beloved wife of the late Thomas Quigley wishes to express her heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all who touched her life in the days during Thomas’s last illness and since his sad passing. Thomas passed to eternal life on 8th April peacefully in Ward 31 Altnagelvin hospital with Mary and loved ones by his side. Thomas, while very ill, experienced nothing but care, compassion and kindness from the staff in the ward. That care and kindness was extended to Mary who knew the staff were giving her that extra support and understanding. Thank you to Father Canny for administering the Last Rites which meant the world to Thomas. Palliative care nurses, Paramedics, Ambulance crew and Accident and Emergency staff showed humanity at its very best.

Heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all relatives, friends, neighbours, care home staff, choir members and work colleagues. Mary was gifted with immeasurable comfort by all those who visited, attended the church services and graveside prayers, sent Mass, sympathy cards and letters, online and text messages and telephone calls. To those who sent flowers which brought such beauty to the graveside, thank you. To all who helped in the very practical ways, the warmth and love felt is palpable. For the relatives and friends who travelled some distances just to be there for Thomas, thank you so very much.

Thomas spent more than two years in Culmore Manor (now Ann’s) Care Home. The Nurses, Carers and all the Staff not only cared for Thomas, they showed him friendship, dignity and respect. Mary has always expressed her appreciation to the staff for the care and attention shown to Thomas and will continue to be forever grateful to all.

Appreciation and thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of Park Medical Centre, their professional help and support which Thomas relied upon for years was always there for him.

Sincere thank you to Father McDevitt for all his support and prayers, for Thomas’ Requiem Mass, personal homily and prayers by the graveside. Many thanks to Fidelma for her beautiful singing and to the organist. Thank you to Noreen for her invaluable help. Sincere thanks to Father McLaughlin who was a constant support to Thomas during his time in Culmore Manor. He continued that support by concelebrating Requiem Mass and offering prayers by the graveside.

While in Culmore Manor Thomas was part of the small community who continued to partake in Mass, receive Holy Communion and blessing of the sick, all delivered by Father McDevitt. Thank you to Fidelma for her commitment to offering the Rosary and bringing Holy Communion every Friday and to Ann for her joyful singing.

Gratitude and thanks to W J O’Brien & Son, Funeral Directors for the respectful and dignified way in which they conducted the funeral. Their professionalism was exemplary.

Sleep in heavenly peace Thomas
