We the family of the late Tom (Tommy) McKenna, much loved father of Shane and Conor, their mother Anne Marie, brothers Peadar, Declan, Aidan, Fearghal, and Philip, sister in laws, aunts, nieces and nephews, wish to express our sincere heartfelt gratitude to everyone who sympathised and supported us following the sudden death of Tom. We would like to thank everyone who attended the wake and funeral, all those who sent mass cards, sympathy cards, flowers, or paid their respects in any other way. Thanks to those who travelled long distances to attend the wake and funeral. Thanks to the ladies who worked tirelessly in the kitchen providing refreshments, those who brought food to the wake and the men who coordinated the bus and parking at the wake which kept everything running smoothly outside. A special thank you to Mickey (Ben) McKenna for the use of his bus. A special word of thanks also to Fr Coll, nurse Breige McFlynn, and all those who were with Tom at the time of his sudden death, this has been a huge comfort to us as a family. We would especially like to thank the Donnelly Family in Ardboe, whom Tom worked for, and his work friends for all their kindness and support. Thank you to Rev Canon Noel McGahan for his comforting words and guidance during Tom’s funeral mass and burial. Thanks to Siobhan Robinson and Damien Cullen for the lovely singing and music provided, and gratitude to the Sacristan and Eucharistic Ministers. A special thank you to the principal, staff and pupils of St.Colman’s School for their guard of honour and support. We wish to thank Donal Mellon, Funeral Director, and his wife Roisin for the support given to the family and the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were carried out, and to the gravedigger for preparing Tom’s final resting place. Thanks to Corick House for providing a beautiful meal. As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we hope this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our deep appreciation.
Tom’s Month’s Mind mass will be celebrated on Monday 19th June at 8pm in St Patrick’s Church Clogher, this will also be livestreamed via the Parish of Clogher Facebook page.
