Victor Hughes
HUGHES, Victor – R.I.P. Formerly of 68 High Street, Newry and latterly 3 Mountain View Drive, Armagh Road, Newry. 4th September 2020, peacefully at Southern Area Hospice. Partner of Bridie, brother of Eileen Haughey, Brendan Hughes (Peterborough) and Derek Hughes (Kircudbright, Scotland), father of Mark (Spain), Caroline (Newtownabbey) and Stephanie (Australia), grandfather to five grandchildren and uncle to his nieces and nephews.
Victor's remains are reposing in Mc Gennity's Funeral Home, 18 Forkhill Road, Newry BT35 8LZ from 6.00pm until 8.00pm this evening (Saturday 5th September) and tomorrow (Sunday 6th September) from 4.00pm until 6.00pm. People are welcome to visit the funeral home during these times. Please observe social distancing and wear face masks in the funeral home.
Removal at 6.00pm tomorrow evening (Sunday), arriving to St. Catherine's church, Dominic Street, Newry at approximately 6.30pm for overnight repose. Requiem Mass on Monday (7th September) at 12.00 noon, followed by burial in St. Mary's cemetery. Sadly, due to the ongoing health crisis and Public Health guidelines the Mass will be restricted to family and close friends but can be viewed online at www.newrydominican.com
