William Alexander MILLER OBE - Order of the Two Niles

Born January 1930, passed away peacefully in the Royal Victoria Hospital on 6th February 2026, aged 96 years. Late of West Circular Road, William (Bill) also resided in the city of Khartoum, Sudan, from 1965 to 2008.

Bill was Dean and a distinguished Professor of the Philosophy and Psychology faculty at the University of Khartoum. In 1995 he was awarded an OBE and was further honoured with the Order of the Two Niles in recognition of his exceptional service to the State of Sudan.

A Service of Thanksgiving for Bill’s life will be held in the Parish Church of St George, 105 High Street, Belfast, on Tuesday 17th February at 11.30am, followed by committal at Roselawn Crematorium at 2.00pm.

He will be sadly missed by his brothers David, Trevor and Eddie; his nephews Campbell, Billy and Robert; and the wider family circle.
