We the family of William ‘John’ McGurk wish to express our heartfelt thanks and sincere appreciation to all those who sympathised with us during our recent bereavement.

We sincerely thank all who attended Johns wake and funeral or who watched via the web cam, sent Mass cards and messages of sympathy. We are grateful to those who travelled a long distance to be with us. A special word of thanks to Johns many neighbours and friends. Your presence, kind words and gestures of support were a great comfort to our family and reflected the loving community that surrounded John throughout his life.

Additional thanks to those who helped out during the wake, providing food, making tea, car parking and bus transport. We will forever be grateful for your help.

We are especially grateful to the doctors and reception staff from Cookstown Family Practice for their years of unfailing care for John. Thanks also to the district nursing team, trust carers and Hospice at Home team all of whom helped us to care for John in his own home.

We would like to extend our gratitude to Fr Hughes for celebrating Johns funeral Mass. Thanks also to Monsignor Curry and Fr Hughes for attending to Johns spiritual needs during his illness and to Fr McAnenly for supporting the family. Your visits brought him great comfort. Thanks to Gerry for the lovely music and to the Millwheel for the refreshments following Johns funeral.

Johns family would like to especially thank his neighbours and close friends who were so respectful in the way they prepared and left Johns final resting place. May God bless you all.

Finally thanks to Joanna and the staff at Niall A. Loughran Funeral Directors for the dignified and professional manner in which they carried out Johns funeral. Your support and guidance is appreciated by us all.

It is impossible to thank everyone individually so please accept this as a token of our sincere thanks and appreciation.

Johns Months Mind Mass will be held in St Mary’s Church Dunamore on February 27th at 7:30pm

Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on Johns soul.
