William John Parke

The sons, daughters and family circle of the late William John Parke wish to express our sincere thanks to all who sympathised with us in our recent sad bereavement. We are extremely grateful for all those who cared enough to call and sympathise with us during the wake. We were also overcome by the large numbers of people who attended our Dad’s funeral and would like everyone to know how much your attendance meant to us at this time of saying goodbye to our precious loved one.

As a family we are very grateful for all those who gave of their medical expertise to Daddy: special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of Kilkeel Primary Care Centre for the help and support Daddy received over the years and especially of more recent months; to the staff in Gordon’s Chemist, Greencastle Street, for their help and efficiency in sorting out his medication; to the doctors and nurses in Craigavon Area Hospital and Daisy Hill Hospital; to the staff in Slieve Roe House who were willing to go the extra mile to help Daddy. Our deep appreciation is also extended to the local District Nurses who attended him both at home and in Slieve Roe House, and finally our grateful thanks to Life and Time who were such a huge support in his final few days – we thank you all very sincerely.

We give a very special thank you to the Rev Stephen Johnston for his genuine pastoral care and attention to Daddy since our Mummy died, and over the more recent months when Daddy’s health was deteriorating. We are so thankful for his conducting of such beautiful and compassionate services at the home, church and graveside, and we are especially grateful for the lovely personal touches that he included of both Mum and Dad. Daddy would have been especially touched with his beloved Orangefield Flute Band leading the praise.

Grateful thanks go to the Church caretaker, Mr. Jackie Williamson, for his efficiency and organising on the day of the funeral.

We extend our heartfelt thanks for the generosity and kindness of the many people who gave donations in lieu of flowers towards Slieve Roe House and Life and Time.

Thanks also go to Adam Annett and Sons for the efficient, dignified and understanding way in which they carried out the funeral arrangements.

Trusting this acknowledgment will be accepted by all as it would be impossible to thank everyone individually.

The Parke family.
