Acknowledgement

The son, daughter-in-law, brother and family of the late William Samuel Connor (Sammy) would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to all those who sympathised with us and supported us during our recent sad bereavement.
Thank you to everyone who called at the house and at Armstrong’s Funeral Home, telephoned, brought, and made food, attended the funeral, sent sympathy cards and flowers. Thank you to the nursing staff in the South West Acute Hospital for the kind, caring and dedicated care given to Sammy during the last 5 months of his life. A special word of thanks to Priscilla and Jamie Milligan for caring for Sammy in his home prior to his admission to hospital and to Lakeland Care, it’s very much appreciated. Special thanks to Barbara Pinkerton for making the teas during the time of the wake at the funeral home.

We would like to sincerely thank the Rev Alexander Aquilla Chisnall and Rev Graham Hare for their spiritual guidance and for visiting Sammy in hospital and looking after his spiritual needs. Thank you for the beautiful service in celebration of his life in the church and at the graveside. Many thanks to the UDR and the USC Associations and the Castlederg branch of the Royal British Legion for the dignified guard of honour at both the church and the graveside. A special word of thanks also to Alastair Donaghy for the piping at the graveside, it was beautiful and very moving. Thanks also to the organist for the beautiful music at the church. A huge thank you also to the ladies of St Columba’s Parish Church, Omagh for providing the beautiful funeral tea in the church hall after the burial.

Our sincere thanks go to Robert and Derek Armstrong- Funeral Directors, for the dignified and professional manner in which the funeral arrangements were conducted. Special thanks go to the grave diggers for preparing Sammy’s final resting place, to the doctors, nurses and staff in Drumragh family Practice and to Slevin’s Chemist Omagh for their services. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a gesture of our family’s deepest gratitude.
